Yesterday, Gov. Ron DeSantis received a bill that could lead to an expansion of underground power lines in Florida -- something supporters in the Sunshine State have been advocating for with the state being a constant target of hurricanes and power outages.
The bill (SB 796), introduced by Sen. Joe Gruters, would change the way underground power-line projects are financed, leading to more projects and ways to improve infrastructure around the state.
The Senate voted 39-1 to pass the bill last month, while the House approved it in a 110-3 vote.
