After stalling over the Bahamas for more than 24 hours, Hurricane Dorian started to move northward toward the U.S. Tuesday morning.
The storm, which was a Category 5 hurricane over the weekend, has been downgraded to a Category 2 as of 11 a.m. EDT, the National Hurricane Center said.
The hurricane slammed into the Bahamas as a Category 5 -- as powerful as a hurricane can get. Along its path, it unleashed massive flooding, destroyed homes, and even loss of lives.
